LIVES IN NEW YORK CITY
I intend for my paintings to have a strong sense of moment. They are visual poems; brief, musical, and suggest time and place. Time is the most important element. The paintings are experienced in the present but it is the past that conditions the present, and it is the future that determines whether the work has visual integrity and quality. The colors speak of a natural world from my own background, current surroundings, and places I visit. The paintings also reflect and resemble atmospheric elements that we all experience when we pay close attention to our environment . The marks and brush strokes are my own personal pictorial language. The images are my personal landscape.
