Born in Spain, 1963 // Lives in New York City

These paintings work mostly with elements of color, time, and place. The color and brushstrokes attempt to create moments on a canvas that are in ways similar to how we visually and emotionally experience particular landscapes and specific moments in time and in life. In this sense, the paintings function very much like poems and music in appealing to our senses and our emotions.

The result is a body of work that while it reflects and speaks of the artist’s own personal history and experiences, it mainly seeks to create brand new moments through paint that anyone can enjoy.
